A Short Introduction to Revenue Risk Management Systems

A Revenue Risk Management System (RRMS) is an automated solution designed to collect network and customer data in order to support the creation of alerts on suspect activity and allow investigations and reporting to occur. Some key components of these systems are shown in Figure 3.3.

Revenue Risk Management Systems are widely used within the Telecoms sector to detect possible fraud or leakage events and to investigate and manage cases. A short summary of the key components of such systems is included here, without giving away the confidential aspects of their inner workings which could facilitate fraud.
